Reviews are a useful signal, but only when you know what to look at and what to discount.

What to discount: reviews that focus exclusively on front-desk demeanor or office aesthetics, while not negative, do not tell you much about surgical outcomes. Reviews from patients in the first two weeks after a procedure are also less informative than reviews written six to twelve months out, because the most relevant outcomes, final prosthesis fit, long-term comfort, integration success, are only knowable at that timeframe. The dated reviews on this page span eighteen months precisely so the longitudinal signal is visible: patients who returned to leave a second review after their final prosthesis was delivered, or after their first year of routine maintenance, almost always reinforce rather than walk back what they said immediately after surgery.

Reviews are also where practice-level structural choices become legible to a reader who knows what to look for. The number of reviews mentioning zygomatic implants is a proxy for how often a practice performs the procedure. The number mentioning board-certified anesthesia is a proxy for whether general anesthesia is genuinely available or only marketed. The number mentioning specific implant brands, Neodent, Straumann, Nobel Biocare, indicates whether the practice educates patients about the fixture they are receiving or leaves it unmentioned. Read fifty reviews of any implant practice and a fairly accurate picture of the operating model emerges, often more accurate than the practice's own marketing.
