For most of dentistry's history, implants have been one procedure among many. A general dentist who does fillings and cleanings might place a few a month, and the patient gets a generalist's experience on a procedure that rewards repetition.
Apex was built the other way around. Dr. Sunny Badyal spent eighteen years narrowing his practice almost entirely to implants, and the patients who found him kept asking the same three questions: Why did nobody tell me this was an option? Why is the price different here? Why can this be done in one day?
The answer was always the same. A practice that does only implants can do things a general practice cannot. So he opened one in Elk Grove in 2026, and that is all Apex does.

Dr. Sunny Badyal grew up in Natomas and studied biotechnology at UC Davis before earning his dental degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2008. He opened his first practice in Yuba City the following year.
Within two years he had found his focus. Implants combined the precision and surgical craft he wanted with the kind of outcome that changes how a person eats, talks, and shows up in a room. He spent the next decade and a half narrowing his practice almost entirely to implant dentistry, completing over 250 hours of advanced clinical implant coursework through the IDIA and ADIA along the way.
Apex Implant Centers opened in Elk Grove in 2026 as the practice that focus was always pointing toward. Dr. Badyal sets the clinical philosophy, chooses the technology, and defines the standard of care behind every treatment plan here.

Full general anesthesia is available, administered on-site by visiting physician anesthesiologists (MDs) from Capital City Dental Anesthesia. Standard at hospitals, rare at dental clinics.

For complex procedures such as All-on-X and full-arch implants, Apex partners with Capital City Dental Anesthesia, an independent group of physician anesthesiologists (MDs) who administer general anesthesia on-site.
Anesthesia is provided by licensed physician anesthesiologists, board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, using hospital-grade anesthesia machines and ventilator support, with continuous physician monitoring through recovery. We do not use nurse anesthetists or non-physician providers for general anesthesia.

Every implant case is fully planned in 3D software before the patient sits in the chair. Implant angles, depths, and prosthetic outcomes are determined digitally, surgery is execution, not exploration.
Comfort is medicine.
Anxious patients heal worse. Sedation and general anesthesia aren't luxuries, they're surgical tools that reduce trauma, improve healing, and let us perform more complex cases predictably.
Pricing is a feature.

Honestly I was a little nervous going in, but it ended up being a really good experience. The whole process was basically painless—even the injections and the implants, I didn't really feel anything and had no issues after either. Implant treatment is mechanically straightforward in textbook cases and uncompromising in everything else. The variables that determine success, bone density mapping, sinus and nerve avoidance, prosthetic-driven angulation, soft-tissue management around the emergence profile, are skills that compound with repetition. Training and ongoing education
Dr. Badyal earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario in 2008 and holds California dental license #58055. He has completed more than 250 hours of advanced clinical implant coursework through the International Dental Implant Association (IDIA) and the American Dental Implant Association (ADIA). His practice is built on continuing education and a high volume of implant cases rather than the broad scope of a general dental license. Coursework and training don't perform surgery, Dr. Badyal does, and the provider team does under his methodology, but they reflect a deliberate, sustained focus on implant technique, case selection, and complication management.
How the philosophy translates to the chair
Every patient who books at Apex receives a CBCT scan at the consultation rather than after committing to treatment, every treatment plan is reviewed in 3D planning software before the patient is anesthetized, and every procedure that warrants it, which is most full-arch work and a meaningful share of single-tooth cases, is performed under full general anesthesia administered by a physician anesthesiologist (MD). None of this is a marketing posture. It is the operational consequence of treating implant care the way a hospital treats any procedure where outcomes are measured in decades rather than appointments.
