What to expect at your free dental implant consultation

30 minutes, free 3D CT scan, written treatment plan with exact pricing. Here's exactly what happens at the Apex consultation, step by step, so you arrive prepared and leave with clarity.

You've scheduled your free consultation at Apex Implant Center. Now you're wondering: what actually happens at this appointment? This is exactly what to expect, step by step, so you arrive prepared and leave with clarity about your options and pricing.

Before your visit (the day before)

You'll get a confirmation SMS within 15 minutes of booking and a reminder text the day before. We don't require any preparation, but two things help:

  • Bring any prior dental X-rays or CT scans you have, even old ones. They give us baseline data on your bone structure.
  • Bring a list of your medications and medical conditions. Implant planning depends on your overall health, so we want to know what you're taking and managing.

If you have insurance, bring your card. We'll run benefits during your visit.

Step 1, Check-in (5 min)

You arrive at 9340 W Stockton Blvd, Suite 120 in Elk Grove. Free patient parking on-site. Front desk greets you, you fill out a brief medical history form (or complete it on a tablet), and you settle into the consultation room.

What we ask on the medical history

  • Current medications (especially blood thinners and bisphosphonates)
  • Heart conditions, diabetes, autoimmune disorders
  • History of head/neck radiation
  • Smoking status (we ask honestly, see our smoking guide)
  • Allergies to medications or anesthesia
  • Pregnancy status (we postpone elective implant surgery during pregnancy)

Step 2, 3D CT scan (5 min)

This is the technical centerpiece. You sit in our cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner. The scan takes about 20 seconds and produces a 360° 3D view of your jaw, every tooth, bone density, sinus position, nerve location, and existing dental work.

The scan is completely free at Apex. National chains charge $250–$400 for the same scan as a separate billed item. We include it because honest treatment planning isn't possible without it.

Step 3, Oral examination (10 min)

Your provider, Dr. Maninder Singh or Dr. Tanvir Singh, performs a clinical exam: gum health, bite, existing teeth, jaw movement, soft tissue. They cross-reference what they see with the 3D scan.

This is when we identify any issues that need to be addressed before implants:

  • Active gum disease (treated first)
  • Failing teeth that need extraction
  • Bone density concerns (most are addressed by procedure choice, All-on-4 vs zygomatic, rather than bone grafting)
  • Sinus position issues for upper-jaw implants

Step 4, Treatment planning conversation (10 min)

This is the heart of the consultation. Your provider walks you through:

  1. What we found, bone density, missing teeth, any complications
  2. Your options, single tooth, multiple tooth, All-on-4, zygomatic, including the realistic timeline for each
  3. Our recommendation, and why, based on your specific case, not the most expensive option
  4. Exact pricing, including any pre-implant procedures (extractions, bone grafts) that may be needed

You leave with a written treatment plan. Not a sales pitch, a plan.

Step 5, Insurance and financing (5 min)

If you have PPO insurance, our front desk runs your benefits during your visit. We tell you exactly what your insurance will cover and what your out-of-pocket cost is. Then we walk through financing options through CareCredit, Sunbit, and Cherry, including pre-qualification with no impact to your credit score.

For our flagship procedures, the typical math:

  • Single tooth implant ($1,999): $0 down, ~$69/month over 36 months
  • All-on-4 ($12,500/arch): ~$1,500 insurance benefit + ~$199/month over 60 months
  • Full mouth ($25,000): ~$3,000 insurance + ~$389/month over 60 months

Step 6, Schedule next steps (5 min)

You decide what you want to do. There's no pressure to commit during the consultation. Many patients schedule the consultation to get clarity, then take days or weeks to decide. That's fine.

If you choose to proceed, we schedule your surgery, typically 1–3 weeks out. If you want to think it over, we send you home with the written treatment plan and follow up by text in a week.

What you walk away with

  • A 3D CT scan of your jaw on USB (yours to keep, useful even if you go elsewhere)
  • Written treatment plan with exact pricing
  • Insurance benefit estimate (if applicable)
  • Financing pre-qualification (if you applied)
  • Clear understanding of your timeline and next steps
Most patients tell us the consultation alone, even before any procedure, gave them more clarity than any prior dental visit. Whether you proceed with us, with another clinic, or decide to wait, you leave knowing exactly what's possible for your case.
