If you're researching All-on-4, you've almost certainly seen ClearChoice ads. They have a major TV presence, recognizable branding, and 80+ centers nationally. They're the default option for many patients.
We compete with ClearChoice. So this comparison comes from someone with a position, but we're going to be honest about both sides. Some of what ClearChoice offers genuinely is good. The reasons most of our patients still choose Apex over ClearChoice come down to a few specific things.
What ClearChoice does well
- Brand trust. National presence, recognized name, lots of patient stories. For some patients, that brand recognition is reassuring.
- Volume and standardization. ClearChoice surgeons place a lot of implants. Their protocols are consistent across locations.
- Same-day teeth. Like Apex, they offer immediate-load All-on-4, you walk out with teeth the same day.
- Network effect. If you move out of state, you can transfer to another ClearChoice for follow-up. (At Apex, you'd need a referral to a local provider.)
Where Apex wins
1. Price, by a lot
This is the biggest gap. ClearChoice typically prices All-on-4 at $20,000–$30,000 per arch. Apex prices it at $12,500 per arch, fixed, all-inclusive.
That's not because we cut corners. We use the same Neodent (Straumann group) implant family. The procedure is identical. The savings come from:
- No national TV advertising overhead
- No corporate executive layer
- Higher case volume per surgeon means better supplier rates
- No "facility fee" or "surgical fee" pricing model
For a typical patient, this is $7,500–$17,500 in savings on a single arch, or $15,000–$35,000 on a full mouth.
2. Pricing transparency
This is more subtle but important. ClearChoice typically advertises “starting at” pricing. The actual final cost is determined at consultation, and patients regularly report bills that came in significantly higher than initial estimates due to add-ons (3D scan, sedation, “facility fees”),
Apex pricing is fixed. $12,500 per arch is the total. We tell you upfront if any pre-implant procedures (extractions, bone grafts) are needed, never as a surprise after surgery.
3. Specialty surgical center, not a national franchise
ClearChoice is a corporate-managed franchise model. Each center has the same playbook, but the surgeon you see is rotated, and your treatment is shaped by corporate protocols.
Apex is independently owned. Drs. Maninder and Tanvir Singh place every implant. Our medical director, Dr. Sunny Badyal, oversees every surgical plan personally. There's no corporate playbook, your treatment is tailored to your case, not a procedure-volume target.
4. Procedures we offer that ClearChoice doesn't
ClearChoice focuses heavily on All-on-4 / All-on-6. They generally don't offer:
- Single-tooth implants at affordable pricing. Their model is built for full-arch volume, not single-tooth restorations. Our $1,999 single-tooth implant fills that gap.
- Zygomatic implants for severe bone loss. Many ClearChoice centers don't perform zygomatic. We do, see our zygomatic implants page.
- Wisdom teeth removal and other oral surgery. ClearChoice is implants-only. Apex performs the supporting oral surgery in-house.
Where ClearChoice might be the better choice
Honestly, in two scenarios:
- You don't live in the Sacramento region. ClearChoice has 80+ locations. Apex is one Elk Grove location (with planned future expansion). If you're in Texas, ClearChoice might be more practical for follow-ups.
- Cost isn't your top concern. If you're comfortable spending $25K+ on a single arch and value the brand-name reassurance, ClearChoice is a legitimate choice. They are not a bad clinic, they're an expensive one.
What patients tell us they wish they'd known
Several of our All-on-4 patients consulted at ClearChoice first before coming to us. Common feedback:
“The ClearChoice consultation felt like a sales pitch. The Apex consultation felt like a doctor's appointment.”
“ClearChoice quoted me $28,000. Apex quoted me $12,500 for the same thing. I went with Apex and I have permanent teeth and $15,000 still in my account.”
“The Apex pricing was fixed. With ClearChoice I kept getting different numbers depending on which add-ons they decided I needed.”
Simple decision framework
If you live within 90 minutes of Elk Grove and are considering All-on-4 or full-mouth implants:
- Schedule a free consultation at Apex (no obligation, you keep the 3D scan either way)
- If you also want a ClearChoice consultation for comparison, do it
- Compare the actual treatment plans, total prices, and feel of each consultation
- Choose based on the comparison, not the brand
Many patients are surprised by what the side-by-side reveals. We're confident enough in our pricing and quality that we encourage the comparison.
